8static will gather some of the premier 8bit artists in the country for an unforgettable night of lo-fi sounds and mesmerizing pixel explosions. A free screening of the documentary "Reformat the Planet" by Paul Owens (www.2playerproductions.com) will precede the performances. Five musicians, both local (Animalstyle, Cheap Dinosaurs) and from NYC (Glomag, Mark Denardo, Bit Shifter) will be joined by four visualists (noteNdo, Voltage Controlled, from NYC and Philly's own NO CARRIER and V BLANK). These artist will use their hacked game consoles and 8bit computers to fill the night with otherworldly sights and sounds. If this is your first 8bit show, it will be your chance to fall in love with the 8bit aesthetic as so many have done in recent years. If you are already a fan, well, you know what you're in for!
