More cool stuff in Philly: On July 17th (6-8pm), The Philadelphia Future Salon is organizing an interesting panel discussion on the future of media, with panelists Peter Decherney and Ariella Furman. The event is free but you need to RSVP (follow the The Philadelphia Future Salon link). Location: 1835 Market Street, 15th Floor, at the office of Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney.

We Are Hacks: Music and Visual Performance at HOPE

Continuing the HOPE theme: if you are going to HOPE or are in NYC this Friday evening check out "We Are Hacks", an event combining a wide range of hacked sounds and visuals. Twelve performers will dazzle you with a fantastic array of audiovisual experiences, including Philly's own NO CARRIER and Animalstyle.

Where: The Hotel Pennsylvania, New York City (map); head to the main door, on your left is the entrance to Penn Pavilion and you should see a table there.
When: Friday, July 18 2008 – performances run 11pm – 2am
Cost: US$10 at the door. First come, first served. (free if you have a HOPE badge)

Check out our new class where Don Miller (aka no-carrier) will teach you how to make music on your NES. On June 14 you can learn about the hardware and how to make chiptunes on your favorite 8bit gaming platform. More info here.

Your hack fix is back

The server hosting the Hacktory website had to be physically moved this morning so we had to debug some kinks. The site is up and running now so you can get your daily hack fix.

Arduino is back!

Arduino is back and it wants you to learn it! Back by popular demand, our introductory class to the Arduino micro-controller environment will teach you how to make LEDs light up, motors move and more. The class will take place on Saturday, April 26, from 9am to 5pm. Pizza and coffee will be provided to keep you going! Sign-up at the bottom of this page, since the class can get filled up quickly.

New date for Microcontrollers for Artists and Makers class

Due to some scheduling issues we are changing the date of the next Arduino class to Feb 23!

If you were hoping to get into the class but could not make it on the 9th now is your chance.
